[The difference between Korean ghosts and Western ghosts]

I have summarized my personal thoughts on Korean ghosts and Western ghosts.

It is a summary by DATA POOL of numerous horror movies I have seen in the meantime.

Korean ghosts also appear in the recent drama Akkwui..

Korean ghosts include appearance (race, skin color, fashion), tone of voice, and background that I see around me.

It seems even more terrifying.

Western ghosts are somehow unlikely to meet in reality.

[The difference between Korean ghosts and Western ghosts- Reasons for killing people]

The reason why Korean ghosts kill people: Because they have a grudge!

(There is a high probability that the person being haunted by the ghost is a bad person or related to a bad person)

The reason Western ghosts kill people: The ghost itself has a mental illness or kills at random for no reason..

It seems that the perception that ghosts themselves are bad is high.

 

[Difference between Korean and Western ghosts- Appearance]

Korean ghosts like to wear hanbok, either white or black. Most of them are women, and most of them have long hair.

There are pretty and handsome ghosts…sometimes we express ghosts like friends..

Most of the time I keep my mouth shut.

Western ghosts have a lot of clothes for homeless people. Messy clothes or completely untidy clothes… I don’t remember the length of my hair, and my hair is often scattered. Most of them have lost weight or look tough.. Most of them have their mouths open when they appear (attack posture)

* Emphasis on appearance:

Korean ghosts put a lot of emphasis on digging their eyes. Korean ghosts often have no feet or don’t come out.

Western ghosts have dizzy eyes, but it seems that there are many cases where the size of the head and hands is large..

There don’t seem to be many female ghosts, but if there are, they’re mostly naked or nuns.

Western ghosts are mostly bare feet or well-dressed shoes…

Emphasizing a torn mouth is common all over the world.

 

[Comparison between Korean ghosts and Western ghosts – Weapons used]

Weapons used by Korean ghosts – Body (strangle with hands, pull hair with hands), knives, nooses, set fire using magic (?), move objects, blow wind, make it rain, make hallucinations with curses etc

Harassing others by possessing the victim.

Weapons used by Western ghosts – Nails, axes, knives, long poles, saws (I’m not a ghost…), making people disappear with magic (?).

I have compiled my personal thoughts…

I always thought about it while watching dramas or movies.

I think it might be my prejudice.
