[Movie Review] Interpreting the Disney Wish theme song (comparison of European Spanish and Mexican Spanish)

After watching the Disney Wish movie in Mexico, I think I hear the Wish theme song Mi deseo at least five times a day.
When I hear something, I feel like I have hope and my mood improves.
I guess it’s the same feeling I had when I first heard the theme song of “Frozen.”
I think it’s the kind of song that gives me hope in my frustrating daily life.
Disney music has a lot of great songs, even when viewed in concert.!!
I feel so good just playing music on YouTube all day. It is no exaggeration to say that one of the biggest reasons for watching Disney movies and animations is to listen to music.

 

The Disney Wish animation movie I saw in Mexico last weekend was,

It’s so impressive that it leaves a lot in my memory.. How long can I wait until it’s released in Korea?~~ It’s a fun wait!!
(I don’t know if it was because I was busy working in Mexico and didn’t have anything else fun to do, but… wow… there wasn’t much to laugh about.)

While listening to music on YouTube, I happened to find the European version of Mi deseo and the Mexican version of Mi deseo.
I found out that the lyrics are completely different.
I knew that singers were different, but they arbitrarily modified the interpretation of English like this.
It was fun to compare and listen to it because the differences between cultures and interpreters were appropriately reflected.
The theme song of Mi deseo and Wish is divided into Latin Spanish and European Spanish, and the interpretations are completely different.

Maybe it’s because my mind is biased towards Mexico/Latin America, but the Latin Spanish pronunciation resonates more with me.
It somehow seems more romantic, sweet, and positive.
I think the biggest difference between the Latin Spanish and European Spanish of the Wish theme song is the delivery of the essence of meaning.
European Spanish is biased towards the plot of the Disney movie Wish, and there are many efforts to include that content in the lyrics.
Meanwhile, Latin Spanish melted the emotions that came out after seeing this content, penetrated their essence, and put them into a song.
The European Spanish version of the song is better in terms of matching the plot and content, but the Latin Spanish version is overwhelming in conveying emotions. The Latin Spanish is much closer to the English original…

The European Spanish version focuses on the theme of the idea of truth and the desire for freedom.
