Top 5 hiking spots near Seoul and metropolitan area.

Korea is a very good country for mountain hiking.
In Korea, 70% of the total area is mountains, and there are more than 7,000 mountains.
For this reason, the passion for mountains in Korea is higher than in any other country. If you are a foreigner, you will want to have some ‘special’ experience in Korea. If I had to pick one of the most special experiences out of all of them, it would definitely be mountain hiking.
Among them, night hiking is the best, but we will discuss night climbing in the next post. I picked out only the 5 best mountains to go to in the suburbs of Seoul and the metropolitan area. In fact, there are dozens of mountains in the suburbs of the metropolitan area alone. Among the mountains within 100 km, I picked out the top 5 mountains I liked the most. Briefly, I will explain how to go to the mountains near Seoul and the advantages.
San=mountain in Korean.
Personally, I prefer rocky mountains. I like the feeling of rocks sticking to the soles of my feet. So please note that my preference may be rocky mountains.
1)Bukhansan (835.6 m height) bukhansan more info.
The number one hiking spots near Seoul is Bukhansan.
Baegundae(Summit of the Bukhansan), Bukhansan Mountain, is the highest mountain near Seoul. The place to go up looks a bit dangerous, so the thrill is overflowing. There are always many cats at the top. There was also a dog guarding the place, but since the number of cats has increased, I can’t see it these days…
Pros: Multiple starting points. The courses are varied. there is a cat lots of shade Disadvantages: There are a lot of bugs these days, so there are a lot of ‘Lover bugs’ in the summer.

2)Dobongsan (740.2 m height)
If you go to Dobongsan, you must go to “Y” Valley. Very dangerous for beginners. A thrilling course that you must visit if you like rock climbing. There are many delicious tofu restaurants down the street.
Pros: Less time required compared to the course. Departing from ‘Dobongsan Station’ of subway Line 7, accessibility is good.
3)Achasan (287 m)
It’s relatively low in height, so it’s good for beginners. The view of the whole of Seoul at a glance is great. Especially at night, it is very nice to see the night view of the city as a whole.
4)Gwanaksan (632 m)
The course is fun with lots of rocks. The difficulty of the hiking course is relatively easy. Cons: As easy as the hike is, there are a lot of people. (It seems that all the people of Seoul have gathered.) You have to line up to take a picture at Jeongsangseok. There is not much shade, so it is easy to be exposed to the sun.
5)Suraksan (637.7m)
The ‘Train Rock’ course to the top is very interesting. It is also good to take pictures. On the downside, it can be difficult for people with a fear of heights. It is very crowded on weekends.
When going to any of the mountains listed above, you must wear hiking boots (safety is essential!) Most foreigners wear slippers or crocs… (great)
