How should foreigners report traffic illegal vehicles in Korea?

• Report offending vehicles, step 1 <Collecting Evidence – Filming>

  • Preperation: Mobile phone <iPhone or Android>
  • What happened: (Example)
    1) When crossing a crosswalk, when another person is crossing, a vehicle suddenly stops and passes in front
    2) When crossing a crosswalk, if a vehicle passes by behind you while you are crossing
    3) It doesn’t matter whether there is a traffic light or not.
  • How to proceed: Holding a cell phone and filming (video) A photo is not admissible as evidence. You shoud take a video in that case.
    *if you want report “illegal parking”, you can use “photo evidence”. but you need take a photo , and second photo after 1 minutes….
  • Report tips: Photographs are not admissible as evidence. You must take a video, and you must meet all four requirements. (Otherwise it will not be reported)
    (1) Everything from the point of entering the crosswalk to the point of exit must be included.
    (2) The license plate number must be clearly visible
    (3) The shooting time must be clearly stamped -> This will be explained below after shooting

  • Preparation : Mobile phone <iPhone or Android>, Time Stamp Photo and video app installed.
  • How to proceed: Search for and install the Time Stamp Photo and video app in the App Store (Same as Android/iPhone) There are many other paid apps, but this one is free. Very easy and convenient! You can take a timestamp right after uploading a photo (photo/video)

    Open the app, select a video -> Press the Guardar (Save) button, it will be automatically saved to the album. After saving, it will look like this. (Refer to the picture below) The time is displayed at the bottom right.
